Float in Kiddie Parade

Crazy Car

Isn't he festive?

The 4th of July in Armstrong is a celebration that people travel from all around to attend. With morning soapbox derby and big wheel races to concessions in the park, it is an event filled day. The parade is the highlight of the day in which everyone grabs a spot in a lawn chair or on a blanket along the parade route. There are manyhighlights to the parade which include the kiddie parade, the band, the crazy car (seen above), firetrucks, horses and even a crazy man on a trike! Of course there is more candy than you know what to do with thrown out by every float.  The afternoon always gives you a time to catch up with old friends and family. The day comes to a close with fireworks put on by the volunteer fire department (although the ones seen below are from a neighboring town).  It’s a celebration that has become tradition in my hometown and it’s a tradition I look forward to participating in every year.
